About usAll of us are told everyday of what can't do. We believe in the power of what a committed group of people CAN do. Launched in 2002, the Southeast Asian Community Alliance (SEACA) works to build a just and humane world. SEACA creates spaces for new forms of leadership to emerge. We support the development of members of our community to create new and culturally relevant solutions to deep-rooted social, economic, and racial justice issues impacting the Southeast Asian community. How We Make a Difference"Leadership Development & Education": To create social change, our members must believe in the power of their own voices. We provide training, mentorship and educational resources so that they can develop the skills and confidence to create change in themselves, their schools and their communities. "Arts & Culture" SEACA employs art and cultural workshops to examine individual identity, community issues and as a tool to educate. Through hip hop music, dance, photography, digital media and poster making, SEACA members spend time exploring who they are, documenting their communities, and teaching others about social justice issues. "Community Building & Community Organizing" Using their skills, knowledge and connections, SEACA members develop their own strategies to build power and organize their communities. They do this by organizing community forums, educational activities, and developing their own campaigns for social justice. |
