Programs

SEACA began as a youth leadership program in 2002, but has since expanded its programming to include youth organizing, creative arts and self-expression, and health and community building through food and gardening.  Towards achieving the organization's mission and vision, SEACA offers programming most days of the week.  Click on the following programs to learn more.

Youth Leadership Project (YLP), Years 1 & 2
- YLP is the heart of SEACA's programming and relationship to the community.  It concentrates on leadership development and education, with a focus on Southeast Asian youth.

Youth Organizers (YO) - Youth members who have completed Year 1 of YLP can gain greater levels of leadership in the organization.  Youth organizers play a larger role in SEACA's decision-making processes by taking on greater responsibilities in our campaigns.

Community Health - This is SEACA's newest program that addresses community health through a cooking and gardening curriculum.  It is open to all residents in the Lincoln Heights, Chinatown, and Solano Canyon neighborhoods.

Rise Up!
- In collaboration with student coordinators from the Claremont Colleges, this program works with youth to develop creative self-expression through various forms of art.  Youth are also able to build relationships with local college students.
